It chronicles a time when Martin Connolly accompanied his brother Jim to a variety of jazz festivals and gigs as a photographer. It contains over 150 photos of mostly never-before-seen pictures of jazz legends, from Miles Davis to Herbie Hancock and everyone in between. The caterpillar took his advice, and ambled off, if you could call it that. But he still wondered about his out-of-the-blue question to the funny little man in his black duds, pencils and notebooks sticking out of his pockets at all angles, and a truncheon behind his left ear.
